The Monmouth County Commissioners and Monmouth County Tourism have organized the County into four regions which provides a “feel for the unique areas of Monmouth County.” (source: Monmouth County Tourism)
BAYSHORE REGION
The Bayshore Region covers the northern tip of Monmouth County and is defined by scenic waterways: Raritan Bay, Sandy Hook Bay and the Navesink River. You’ll find the beaches, boat ramps, marinas, waterfront parks, boardwalks and landmarks you’d expect – including Gateway National Recreation Area at Sandy Hook – but you’ll also find beautifully lush parks and lively downtowns here too.
TWO RIVER REGION
Though it takes its name from the Navesink and Shrewsbury Rivers, Monmouth County’s Two River Region also borders the Atlantic Ocean. Hop between beaches, boardwalks and waterfront signatures, including the popular Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park. The region also invites you to golf, shop and explore charming downtowns full of opportunities for nightlife, dining and entertainment.
JERSEY SHORE REGION
Monmouth County’s Jersey Shore Region is full of amazing beaches, boardwalks, promenades and lighthouses – plus world-renowned beach towns. Just inland, you can discover golf, green spaces and historic parks and places.
WESTERN MONMOUTH REGION
The Western Monmouth Region reveals the beauty and tranquility of inland Monmouth County through a treasure of outdoor spaces. County parks, wildlife management areas, golf courses and more invite you to enjoy the outdoors here, accented by creeks and lakes. The Western Monmouth Region is also home to one of the County’s most intriguing pieces of history, Monmouth Battlefield State Park.
